About the Opportunity

Our pools are getting ready for the upcoming season, and we’re looking for people to help keep them safe, welcoming and enjoyable for the community.

Whether you're already a qualified Pool Attendant with practical lifeguarding experience, or looking to gain nationally recognised qualifications, we'd love to hear from you.

We have casual opportunities available across both Cessnock and Branxton Pools. If you're not yet qualified, Council will provide training for your Pool Lifeguard Licence, First Aid and CPR certifications.

As a Pool Attendant, you'll help ensure a safe and positive environment for all visitors. This includes supervising pool users, responding to emergencies, supporting daily operations and maintaining clean and well presented facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising pool users and maintaining a safe aquatic environment.
  • Responding to rescues, first aid incidents and emergency situations.
  • Completing incident documentation and maintaining first aid equipment.
  • Assisting with pool operations, cleanliness and general maintenance.
  • Operating small plant and equipment in line with Council procedures.
  • Following all Council Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.

To help us deliver a great experience for our community, we're looking for people who can work a mix of weekday and weekend shifts. 

"Applicants must be at least 16 years old to begin Lifeguard License training, as per Royal Life Saving requirements."

Remuneration

$40.26 - 46.62 per hour (Inclusive of Casual Loading)
